Central Connecticut State University, Classroom Building & Parking Garage
New Britain, CT
Client: State of Connecticut, Department of Public Works
Description: This new 87,000 s.f. office and classroom building has an exterior constructed of brick with precast concrete and a standing seam copper roof. The facility includes technologically sophisticated lecture halls, computer labs, and faculty office space arranged on five levels. A variety of classroom sizes and computer access flooring throughout help provide for maximum educational flexibility. Elevated pedestrian walkways connect the building across the sloping site to a new three-level, 420-space parking garage.

Eastern Connecticut State University New Library and Clock Tower, Willimantic, CT

Description: This 125,900 s.f. building is a five-level, special moment frame, brick and block structure, designed to house 500,000 volumes. Adjacent to the library there stands a 110 ft high, eccentrically braced steel clock tower.

Eastern Connecticut State University Residential Village, Willimantic, CT

Description: Two dormitory facilities, totaling 171,000 s.f. were built under a design/build agreement to house 448 students. The exterior includes brick masonry and a sloping metal roof.

Housatonic Community College, Bridgeport, CT

Description: This building and parking garage were entirely restructured from a retail mall into a full service, 82,000 s.f. college facility. Included are classrooms, science labs, auditorium, library, cafeteria and museum spaces, as well as a parking garage for 1,350 cars.

Michael Adanti Student Center at Southern Connecticut State
University

Description: This state-of-the-art facility is located in the center of
the Southern Connecticut State University campus and the new Student
Center presents a welcoming visage to its surrounding neighborhood and an
impressive new gateway for this growing, thriving institution. Designed as
a model for public universities nationwide, this multi-purpose, 125,000
s.f. Student Center houses an impressive main lobby, event space and
meeting rooms, fireplace, fitness center, 7,000 s.f. ballroom, 200-seat
theater, student lab, information desk, student organization suites, food
court, coffee house, bookstore and other retail shops.

Southern State Connecticut University West Campus
Complex & Parking Garage, New Haven, CT
Client: State of CT, Department of Public Works, Hartford, CT
Description: This project is a five-story, "L" shaped, 365-bed residence hall of approximately 112,000 s.f. The building forms a courtyard with existing Neff and Hickerson Halls, and a 4-level, 455-car parking garage. This project was designed to earn a U.S. Green Building Council Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) certification. This design-build project was fast-tracked over 12 months in order to meet an August 2004 completion.

UCONN 2000, Storrs, CT
Client: University of Connecticut
Description: Construction administration services were provided by the joint venture of
Fusco Corporation and Bechtel Infrastructure Company on new
research/teaching facilities at the Storrs campus of The University of
Connecticut totaling nearly $700 million.
Over the past six years, 22 projects with a construction value of nearly
$450 million have been completed, including the new Technology Quadrant
which consists of a Chemistry building, a Biology/Physics building, and an
Agricultural Biotechnology laboratory. Other projects included Gant Plaza
reconstruction; a new Drama & Music building; the addition of a new gallery,
museum shop, and atrium lobby to the Benton Museum of Art; four dormitory
projects; dining facilities; Central Utility Plant upgrade, and a new
parking garage.
Also completed are, the renovation of the Old School of Business, a new
School of Pharmacy, Undergraduate Center, four dormitories, Information
Technology building, and Cogeneration Plant with a total value of $250
million.

WCSU, New Science Center, Danbury, CT
Client: State of Connecticut, Department of Public Works
Description: In the northeastern edge of this bucolic campus, the site for the new 111,542 s.f. science building offered a unique opportunity to frame a new academic quadrangle, strengthen pedestrian connections, and create new outdoor spaces for recreation. The building provides laboratories, classrooms, an animal facility, and support areas including a greenhouse, clean rooms, meteorology station, and a rooftop observatory for the departments of biology, chemistry, and physics/astronomy/meteorology. This selected design solution features three wings joined by a center lobby/classroom element.

Yale Saybrook College, New Haven, CT
Client: Yale University, New Haven, CT
Description: Fusco Corporation was commissioned to provide construction
management services for the complete restoration of Saybrook College. Work
in the 160,000+ s.f. facility involved restoration to windows, bathrooms
and student suites. The project also included life safety code upgrades
and the removal and replacement of the mechanical/electrical systems.
Saybrook's lower level was renovated to house various student activity
rooms, including two squash courts, one that was restored and one that was
converted to an exercise room.

Yale Timothy Dwight College, New Haven, CT
Client: Yale University, New Haven, CT
Description: Renovation work of Timothy Dwight College encompassed 162,000
sf of three four-story buildings including 164 student suites and 60
bathrooms. In addition to student housing, the project included
restoration of the college Dean's office, Master's house, the library, and
kitchen. Four new elevators and 630 replacement windows were added.
Mechanical/electrical/plumbing was upgraded as well as life safety codes.
Lastly, the central courtyard was re-landscaped.

Yale University Payne Whitney Gymnasium (A joint venture with Bechtel Infrastructure Co.) New Haven, CT

Description: Major renovations and additions were done to this existing 500,000 s.f. multi-story athletic facility. Upgrades include new locker and weight rooms, squash courts, and building code compliance improvements, as well as adding four new basketball/volleyball courts in an adjoining gymnasium structure.

Description: The first residence hall to be built at Yale in 35 years, this 100,000 s.f. facility contains 108 two-bedroom suites. In keeping with other campus structures, the building is faced with brick, and defined by gables, chimneys and dormers.
